Definition
Short for 'newbie' — a new or inexperienced player who doesn't yet know how a game works. In Roblox, a noob often refers to someone with a default avatar (the classic blue shirt and green pants look) or someone who makes rookie mistakes in gameplay. The term can be friendly and inclusive ('we were all noobs once') or mildly mocking, depending on who says it and how. In most gaming communities, being called a noob is more of a tease than a serious insult — though repeated targeting of younger or less experienced players can cross into bullying.

Note for Parents
Being called a noob is normal gaming banter and usually harmless. However, if your child is being consistently mocked or excluded because they're newer to a game, that's worth a conversation about how they're feeling — and possibly about finding a more welcoming server or friend group.
